In the Shadow of the War - the path forward
The situation in Gaza is marked by a fragile ceasefire and a serious humanitarian crisis. In the West Bank, violence against Palestinians and the destruction of their livelihoods are increasing. At the same time, anti-Semitism is increasing, and Jews are being subjected to terrorist acts in a number of countries. Regardless of which path the conflict takes, it will affect us for a long time. In a situation of ongoing suffering and great uncertainty, is it still possible to think ahead?

The Norwegian Holocaust Center and the University of Oslo invite you to conversations with actors who insist that equal coexistence should be possible, even if it is difficult to imagine a path towards peace and reconciliation today.
We will shine a spotlight on how trauma across generations has contributed to escalating the conflict, and the importance of acknowledging these traumas. We also invite you to a conversation about how we can safeguard the memory of the Holocaust in the future.
All events will be in English, and will be streamed.
The series is a continuation of In the Shadow of War, which was held in the spring of 2025. The series of events will continue in the fall of 2026 with new themes.
