Discussions on bigotry and hate often remain highly general and experience-distant, because of their broad scope and international nature. More knowledge is needed about how state, sub-state, and regional actors have both come to understand these phenomena and develop strategies to prevent them.

From September 2013 to October 2017, four Norwegian institutions (the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies, the Oslo Jewish Museum, the European Wergeland Centre and the Falstad Centre) partnered with the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw on the Jewish Cultural Heritage project.

From August 2010 to May 2012, the The Norwegian Holocaust Center conducted the first quantitative survey on the Norwegian population's attitudes towards Jews and other minorities.

The opinion poll Attitudes towards Jews and Muslims in Norway 2022 has been developed by the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minoritiy Studies on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Equality (Likestillings- og diskrimineringsdepartementet). The survey presents the results of three surveys: a population survey, a minority survey, and a youth survey.

Between 2015 and 2017, the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies (HL-Center) conducted a follow-up of the opinion poll: “Antisemitism in Norway?  The Norwegian population’s attitudes to Jews and other minorities” (2012). Repeating this same opinion poll has made it possible to track how attitudes develop over time. The new poll has been extended to cover attitudes to Muslims, as well as a separate survey of the attitudes and experiences of Jews and Muslims.
