About the project
The project was conducted in partnership with experts in historical and cultural studies in Norway and Germany, and focused on how the image of the Jew was constructed in Norwegian public life in the period from 1814 to 1940. The project’s timeframe started with the adoption of Article 2 of the Norwegian Constitution in 1814, which denied Jews access to the realm, and ended with the invasion and occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany in 1940.
