For tiden arbeider Mona Abdel-Fadil med tematikken rasisme i Norge gjennom blant annet forskningsprosjektet  «(Religious) Enemy of the Nation?: Coping with Experiences of Racism in Norway».  Hun er også en del av teamet som jobber med utformingen av MINO- utstillingen om hverdagsrasisme.
